Another excellent interview. There’s nothing like good scholarship to both inform and to fill in the gaps. This whole concept of rethinking biblical subjects in light of extensive research and actually looking closely at the texts within the context of the whole of Scripture and history, makes you appreciate the complexity of the library, that we call the Bible. It also makes you humbly hold to your dogmas, doctrines, and opinions with a realization that we are humans dealing with the divine. As i get older and study more with the motivation of teaching in an adult Sunday school class setting with parents of young adults who are asking questions, I have rethought several biblical subjects, and understand the great responsibility I have of actually dealing honestly and conscientiously with difficult concepts.

Wow! That was a tremendous interview. Please get Dr Kim on again! Honestly, I was starting to think I knew a lot of what there was to know about conditionalism – mind blown!

  • Roy

I’d love to see him debate Dr James White :-D

    • The Remonstrant

On annihilationism or Calvinism (or perhaps both)?

Incredible episode. Wonderful. I wish that there was a part 2 of this episode. Call him back Chris, call him back and ask more questions! We need a part 2.

I believe this is my favorite podcast to date. Thank you. I hope someday I’ll be able to meet Dr. Kim (though it will likely not be anytime soon). I have learned a lot from Seventh-day Adventists (SDA) over the years and admire much of their theology. Another Adventist, Samuele Bacchiocchi (1938-2008), wrote an excellent work some years back titled Immortality or Resurrection? A Biblical Study on Human Nature and Destiny (Berrien Springs, MI: Biblical Perspectives, 1997). I highly recommend it.

A future interview with Mr. Papaioannou would be much appreciated (not to be forthright or anything). I also look forward to reading Dr. Kim’s book.
